Telecoms Network Planner - Fiber Optic Expansion

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Telecoms Network Planner to contribute to their ambitious fiber optic expansion projects in Nelspruit . This role involves meticulous planning, design, and optimization of network infrastructure to meet growing demand for high-speed connectivity. You will work closely with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

• Develop detailed network designs for fiber optic deployment, including route planning, capacity analysis, and equipment selection.
• Create and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for network expansion initiatives.
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to identify optimal network routes and potential challenges.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and local authorities to secure necessary permits and approvals.
• Ensure network designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company best practices.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Telecommunications), Geography, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network planning or design, specifically within the telecoms industry and fiber optics.
• Proficiency with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS) and network design tools.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic network technologies, deployment methodologies, and optical transmission principles.
• Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment , balancing office-based planning with occasional site visits in the Nelspruit area.
