About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Electrical Project Engineer with a focus on renewable energy projects to join their team in Nelspruit . This role involves managing and executing electrical aspects of solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects from inception through to commissioning. You will be responsible for detailed design, procurement support, site supervision, and ensuring that all electrical installations meet the highest standards of safety and performance.

- Oversee the electrical design, specification, and procurement for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
- Manage the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, including power generation equipment, inverters, transformers, and control systems.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to construction teams and subcontractors.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans for electrical scope of work.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution and timely approvals.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong emphasis on renewable energy projects (solar, wind).
- Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring electrical installations.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and standards (e.g., AutoCAD, NEC, IEC).
- Knowledge of grid connection requirements and power quality standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a site-based environment in Mpumalanga .
