Senior HSE Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior HSE Engineer to oversee health, safety, and environmental performance for their operations in Nelspruit . This vital role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE management systems to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards. You will be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring the environmental sustainability of all activities within the Oil & Gas sector.

• Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and deliver HSE training to employees and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and permits.
• Promote a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the organization.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in HSE management, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety management systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP) are highly desirable.
