About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Biomass Energy Systems Specialist to join their team in Nelspruit . This role is critical for the design, implementation, and optimization of biomass energy conversion systems. You will work on projects that harness sustainable organic materials to generate power and heat, contributing to diversified and environmentally friendly energy solutions in Mpumalanga . This position requires a blend of technical expertise in biomass processes and a strategic understanding of renewable energy project development.
Key Responsibilities- Design and engineer biomass energy conversion systems, including combustion, gasification, and anaerobic digestion technologies.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for potential biomass energy projects.
- Select appropriate equipment and technologies, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and operational phases of biomass energy plants.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and recommend improvements.
- Stay current with advancements in biomass feedstock, conversion technologies, and relevant regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, development, or operation of biomass energy systems.
- Strong understanding of biomass feedstock properties, preprocessing, and combustion/gasification principles.
- Experience with project management and familiarity with relevant safety and environmental standards.
- Ability to analyze technical data and provide practical solutions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
