Chemical Engineer - Plant Optimization

Our client seeks a results-driven Chemical Engineer with a strong focus on plant optimization to join their established operations in Vereeniging . This role is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and profitability of our client's chemical production facilities. You will analyze current processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions that reduce costs, minimize waste, and increase throughput. The ideal candidate possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of chemical processes, and a proven ability to implement change effectively.

• Analyze plant operational data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Develop and implement process optimization strategies, including debottlenecking and energy reduction initiatives.
• Design and execute plant trials to validate process improvements and new operating parameters.
• Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure the reliability and uptime of plant equipment.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs and operating procedures.
• Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical plant operations or process engineering.
• Proven experience in plant optimization, debottlenecking, or continuous improvement projects.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of process control systems and instrumentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in Vereeniging .
