About the Role
Our client is seeking a driven and innovative Process Development Chemical Engineer to join their dedicated team in Klerksdorp . This role focuses on the research, development, and optimization of chemical processes for new and existing product lines. You will play a crucial part in translating laboratory discoveries into viable commercial-scale operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for innovation.
You will collaborate closely with R&D chemists, pilot plant operators, and manufacturing teams to bring new products to market and enhance existing processes.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments for process development and optimization.
- Develop robust and scalable chemical processes from lab bench to pilot scale and beyond.
- Troubleshoot process issues and identify root causes, proposing effective solutions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, process flow diagrams, and mass/energy balances.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams to ensure smooth technology transfer.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and process innovations relevant to the company's operations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- 3-5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or process optimization.
- Solid understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
- Experience with process simulation software is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous approach to experimental work.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for teamwork in Klerksdorp .
