Field Operations Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a practical and experienced Field Operations Engineer to support their oil and gas production activities near Nelspruit . This role requires a strong understanding of surface facilities, production optimization, and troubleshooting operational issues in real-time. You will work closely with rig crews, technicians, and management to ensure the efficient and safe operation of wells and associated equipment.

This position is critical for maintaining production levels and addressing any technical challenges that arise in the field.

• Monitor and optimize the performance of oil and gas wells and surface facilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, including equipment malfunctions and production variances.
• Implement artificial lift optimization strategies and manage associated equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in field operations.
• Participate in daily production meetings and coordinate activities with drilling, reservoir, and maintenance teams.
• Prepare daily/weekly operational reports and analyze production data for performance improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in oil and gas field operations .
• Solid understanding of production engineering principles, including artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, gas lift).
• Experience with surface facility operations and maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented field environment near Nelspruit .
