Senior Process Engineer - Chemical & Energy

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their facility in Vereeniging . This role is integral to the optimization and development of chemical processes within the energy sector, focusing on efficiency, safety, and sustainability. You will be involved in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex chemical processes, working closely with operational teams and research and development.

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling using specialized software to predict performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Oversee the implementation of new process technologies and equipment, ensuring smooth integration and minimal disruption.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions to enhance process reliability.
• Develop and maintain Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), operating procedures, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, R&D, and quality assurance, to achieve project and operational goals.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in process engineering, with significant exposure to the chemical or energy industries .
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and P&t tools.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mass transfer.
• Experience with process safety management (PSM), HAZOP studies, and risk assessments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions.
