Telecommunications Field Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly competent Telecommunications Field Engineer to manage and execute technical projects across the Nelspruit region. This hands-on role involves the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex technical issues on-site and collaborating with network operations teams to resolve challenges. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, safety-conscious, and adept at working independently in a field environment, contributing to the expansion and upkeep of critical communication networks.

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including base stations, transmission systems, and associated hardware.
• Perform regular site inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions to ensure network uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems related to network performance and connectivity.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards during field operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and field teams in the Nelspruit area.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a field engineering role within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong knowledge of wireless technologies (LTE, 5G), transmission systems, and network protocols.
• Proficiency in using specialized test equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a field setting.
