Facilities Engineer

Our client is seeking a versatile Facilities Engineer to manage and maintain their industrial facilities in and around Vereeniging . This role is responsible for the operational integrity, safety, and efficiency of all plant infrastructure, including buildings, utilities, and equipment. You will oversee maintenance schedules, manage capital projects related to facility upgrades, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and a broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, and civil systems within an industrial context, contributing to the smooth operation of facilities in the Gauteng industrial hub.

• Oversee the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of plant facilities and infrastructure.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all facility assets.
• Plan and execute capital improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to facility operations.
• Manage external contractors and service providers engaged for facility maintenance and projects.
• Optimize energy consumption and implement sustainability initiatives for the facilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management or engineering, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Proven experience in managing maintenance operations, including CMMS software.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, utilities (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing), and industrial equipment.
• Experience with project management methodologies and contract negotiation.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
