About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer with expertise in power generation to join their team in Klerksdorp, North West . This role will involve the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems within power generation facilities, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. You will work on critical infrastructure projects and contribute to the reliable supply of energy. The position requires a strong technical background, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test electrical equipment and systems for power generation plants
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure, including generators, transformers, and switch gear
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal plant performance
  • Conduct feasibility studies and prepare technical reports for new projects and upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and operations personnel, on project requirements and solutions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in electrical engineering , with a focus on power generation.
  • Strong knowledge of power system analysis, generator technologies, and protection systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) with ECSA is required.
