About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly competent Field Service Engineer to join their team, serving clients in and around Benoni. This role requires a blend of on-site technical expertise and the ability to provide remote support and diagnostics. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of specialized technical equipment, ensuring peak performance and client satisfaction. This position offers a dynamic work environment for an experienced engineer who excels at problem-solving and enjoys direct client interaction, while also utilizing modern remote support technologies for efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Install, commission, and service complex equipment at client locations according to established procedures.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic tests to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues efficiently, both on-site and remotely.
- Provide technical guidance and training to clients on equipment usage and maintenance protocols.
- Accurately document all service activities, parts used, and time spent using company reporting systems.
- Collaborate with the engineering and support teams to resolve challenging technical problems and improve service delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role, with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electromechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team engagement.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the Benoni area and adapt to a hybrid work schedule.
