Process Control Chemical Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled Process Control Chemical Engineer to enhance the automation and control systems of their chemical manufacturing facilities in Vereeniging . This role is essential for ensuring consistent product quality, operational efficiency, and plant safety through the implementation and optimization of advanced control strategies. You will work closely with operations and instrumentation teams to maintain and improve Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

This is a hands‑on role that requires deep technical expertise in process dynamics and control theory, applied within a critical industrial environment.

• Design, implement, and maintain advanced process control strategies and systems (DCS, PLC).
• Tune control loops and optimize process parameters to improve stability, yield, and energy efficiency.
• Develop and validate process models for simulation and control system design.
• Troubleshoot control system issues, diagnose faults, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineers and operators to ensure effective integration of control systems with plant operations.
• Stay current with new technologies in process automation and control, recommending upgrades and improvements.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering with a strong process focus.
• Proven experience in industrial process control, including DCS and PLC programming and configuration.
• Solid understanding of process dynamics, control theory, and instrumentation .
• Experience with simulation software and control system modeling tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
