About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geoscientist to lead integrated subsurface studies for their Oil & Gas assets, based in Nelspruit . This role demands a broad understanding of geology, geophysics, and petrophysics, with the ability to synthesize data from various sources to build robust subsurface models. You will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating exploration and development opportunities, working in a hybrid capacity that combines office-based collaboration with potential fieldwork.
This position offers a significant opportunity to influence strategic decisions in asset management and exploration.
- Lead and execute integrated subsurface studies, combining geological, geophysical, and engineering data.
- Develop and refine detailed 3D geological and petrophysical models for reservoir characterization.
- Interpret seismic data to identify structural and strati graphic traps and assess exploration potential.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers and production engineers to define development strategies and optimize field performance.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and joint venture partners.
- Stay current with advancements in geoscience technologies and workflows relevant to the Oil & Gas industry .
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in subsurface evaluation and integrated geoscience studies , preferably within Oil & Gas exploration and production .
- Expertise in seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel).
- Strong understanding of petroleum systems, structural geology, and sedimentology.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment, supporting operations near Nelspruit .
