Power Systems Control Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Power Systems Control Engineer to join their team in Benoni . This role is central to the design, implementation, and optimization of control systems for power generation and distribution networks. • Design, develop, and implement control algorithms and systems for power grids and generation facilities.
• Analyze power system performance and identify areas for improvement in control and stability.
• Develop and test SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and related software.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and field technicians on system integration and deployment.
• Troubleshoot control system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure control systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and performance requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on control systems.
• Proven experience in power systems engineering and control system design.
• Proficiency with control system software, simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink), and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of grid operations, power electronics, and protection schemes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with PLC programming is a plus.
