Electrical Engineer - Grid Infrastructure

Our client, a key contributor to the national energy infrastructure , is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in grid infrastructure to join their team in Klerksdorp . This role is integral to ensuring the stability, reliability, and modernization of the electrical grid. You will be involved in the planning, design, and implementation of projects related to substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.

• Design, develop, and oversee the implementation of electrical grid infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission, and distribution networks.
• Conduct power system studies, load flow analysis, and short-circuit calculations to ensure grid stability and capacity.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and tender documents for electrical equipment and construction works.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors.
• Ensure compliance with national electrical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to grid operations and maintenance, providing expert support to field teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in electrical engineering , with a focus on power systems and grid infrastructure.
• Proven experience in the design and management of substation projects, transmission lines, or distribution networks.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E) and CAD tools.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, SANS) and safety protocols.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model in Klerksdorp .
