Structural Civil Engineer - Building Design

Our client, a respected structural engineering firm in Vereeniging , is seeking a highly skilled Structural Civil Engineer to contribute to the design of innovative building structures. This role is central to ensuring the safety, stability, and efficiency of various building projects throughout Gauteng . You will be responsible for structural analysis, design, and detailing of buildings ranging from residential complexes to commercial high-rises.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of structural principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions within a collaborative and professional team setting.

• Perform structural analysis and design for building structures using steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for construction.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other consultants throughout the design and construction phases.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure construction adheres to structural design requirements and safety standards.
• Investigate and report on existing building structures for rehabilitation or upgrade projects.
• Stay updated with the latest building codes, standards, and construction technologies.

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in structural design for buildings.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Etabs).
• In-depth knowledge of material behavior, structural mechanics, and building codes (SANS).
• Experience in project coordination and construction supervision is essential.
