This role is essential for assessing land suitability, measuring boundaries, and mapping agricultural properties for various purposes, including development, land reform, and resource management. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to collect accurate data, ensuring compliance with legal and environmental standards. The successful candidate will play a vital role in land use planning and management within the agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field surveys to measure and map land boundaries, topography, and features for agricultural use.
- Prepare detailed survey plans, maps, and reports using specialized software.
- Assess land characteristics such as soil type, drainage patterns, and existing infrastructure.
- Provide expert advice on land use, zoning regulations, and potential development constraints.
- Collaborate with farmers, developers, and government agencies to ensure accurate land documentation.
- Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment and adhere to professional standards.
- Professional Land Surveyor qualification or a degree in Geomatics, Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Agricultural Surveyor or in a similar surveying role.
- Proficiency with surveying instruments (total stations, GPS, Drones) and CAD software.
- Strong understanding of land measurement principles, cartography, and legal surveying practices.
- Experience with agricultural land assessments and land reform processes is advantageous.
