About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Mineral Processing Engineer to manage and optimize their processing plant operations in Vereeniging . This role involves overseeing the efficient extraction and recovery of valuable minerals from ore through various physical and chemical processes. You will focus on improving plant performance, reducing operating costs, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the mineral processing plant, including crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, and refining circuits.
- Monitor key process indicators and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement in recovery, grade, and throughput.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Conduct pilot plant tests and laboratory analyses to evaluate new process technologies and reagents.
- Develop and implement process optimization strategies, including reagent management and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols within the processing plant.
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mining Engineering with a processing specialization.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing or extractive metallurgy within the mining industry.
- Strong understanding of metallurgical principles, including comminution, solid-liquid separation, and chemical extraction.
- Experience with process control systems and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
