Mechanical Engineer - Plant Operations

Our client is looking for a proactive Mechanical Engineer to support plant operations in Benoni. This role is vital for ensuring the reliable and efficient functioning of all mechanical systems and equipment within the manufacturing facility. You will be involved in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance planning, equipment upgrades, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards. This on-site position requires a practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced operational environment, contributing directly to the plant's productivity and success.

• Provide technical support for mechanical systems and equipment in a plant environment.
• Develop and implement effective preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to ensure continuous operations.
• Conduct equipment performance analyses and recommend modifications or upgrades.
• Ensure all mechanical operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians, operators, and other engineers to optimize plant performance.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a plant operations or maintenance engineering role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including rotating equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience with CMMS software for maintenance planning and tracking.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in an industrial setting.
