Industrial Engineer - Automation Focus

Our client is seeking an Industrial Engineer with a strong focus on automation to join their team in Vereeniging . In this hybrid role, you will play a key part in modernizing manufacturing operations by evaluating, designing, and implementing automated systems and processes. You will work on projects aimed at increasing efficiency, improving safety, and reducing operational costs through the strategic application of advanced technologies.

• Assess current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for automation.
• Design, specify, and oversee the implementation of automated systems, robotics, and control solutions.
• Develop process simulations and models to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed automation projects.
• Collaborate with external vendors and internal engineering teams on automation system integration and validation.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials for automated processes.
• Analyze performance data from automated systems to identify areas for further optimization and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering with a focus on automation.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing automated systems, PLC controls, and robotics.
• Familiarity with simulation software and data analysis tools relevant to automation.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and their application in automated environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
