About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in industrial applications to join their team in Nelspruit . This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical systems for industrial processes, machinery, and equipment. You will be responsible for conceptual design, detailed engineering, stress analysis, and ensuring that solutions meet high standards of performance, reliability, and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial machinery design and a proven ability to innovate and solve complex engineering problems within Mpumalanga.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop industrial machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems using CAD software.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress analysis , fatigue analysis, and vibration analysis.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing instructions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to ensure designs are optimized for production and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues encountered during assembly, testing, or operation.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in industrial engineering and manufacturing technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial mechanical design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor) and FEA tools.
- Strong understanding of industrial processes, machinery, and automation.
- Knowledge of materials science, manufacturing techniques, and fabrication methods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
