About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer specializing in transportation projects to join their team in Benoni. This role focuses on the planning, design, and implementation of road networks, intersections, and related infrastructure. You will play a vital part in improving mobility and connectivity within the region, working on projects that impact daily life. This position offers a blend of office-based collaboration and site involvement, providing a dynamic work experience for an engineer passionate about transportation infrastructure and its development.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop plans for roads, highways, intersections, and public transport facilities.
- Conduct traffic analysis and modeling to inform design decisions and optimize traffic flow.
- Prepare detailed technical specifications, geometric designs, and construction documentation.
- Coordinate with authorities, utility companies, and other stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure smooth project execution.
- Perform site investigations, surveys, and construction supervision for transportation projects.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and environmental considerations.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Technologist (Pr. Tech. Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation engineering and infrastructure design.
- Proficiency in transportation design software such as Civil 3D , PTV Vissim, or similar.
- Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, geometric design, and pavement engineering.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
