Our client, a dynamic civil engineering consultancy, is seeking a motivated Senior Civil Engineer to contribute to key infrastructure development projects in Nelspruit
. This role is essential for the planning, design, and project management of municipal infrastructure, including roads, water reticulation, stormwater systems, and related developments across Mpumalanga
.The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in civil engineering design, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies. You will be instrumental in delivering essential infrastructure that supports the region's growth and sustainability. The role involves a combination of office-based design work and site supervision, requiring a hands-on approach and commitment to quality outcomes.

• Lead the design and development of various civil infrastructure projects, such as roads, streets, drainage systems, and water/sewer networks.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and municipal requirements.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Provide technical supervision and guidance to project teams, including junior engineers and technicians.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure quality control.
• Review construction proposals and address technical queries during the construction phase.
• Stay updated on best practices in civil engineering design and construction methods.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in civil engineering design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in civil design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, relevant hydraulic/drainage software).
• Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure design principles, including roads, water, and sanitation.
• Excellent project management and leadership skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with local municipal standards and approval processes in Mpumalanga is advantageous.
