About the Role
Our client, a leading provider of advanced building solutions, is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their HVAC systems team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This internship is designed for recent graduates or individuals early in their mechanical engineering careers who are eager to gain hands‑on experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers, contributing to projects that enhance comfort and efficiency in commercial and residential buildings across Mpumalanga .
- Assist senior engineers in the design and selection of HVAC components and systems.
- Prepare technical drawings and documentation for HVAC installations using CAD software.
- Conduct site visits to observe installations and provide technical support.
- Perform basic calculations for airflow, cooling load, and heating load.
- Support the testing and commissioning of HVAC systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to HVAC equipment.
- Research and compile data on new HVAC technologies and best practices.
- Help maintain project records and documentation.
- Collaborate with team members on project tasks and objectives.
- Learn and apply company procedures and industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A recent graduate or candidate with 0-2 years of experience.
- Basic understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for site visits.
- Interest in HVAC systems and building services.
