Farm Surveyor

Our client is a major agricultural development company involved in land management and infrastructure projects across Gauteng
. We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Farm Surveyor to conduct precise land measurements, boundary delineations, and topographical surveys for various farm properties. This on-site role is crucial for accurate land assessment, planning, and the effective management of agricultural resources. You will be responsible for utilizing advanced surveying equipment and techniques to ensure the highest level of accuracy in all data collected.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of land surveying principles within an agricultural context. Your work will directly support land acquisition, development, and agricultural planning initiatives for our clients in the Benoni region and surrounding areas. We need a reliable professional committed to delivering accurate and timely survey results.

• Conduct boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and site assessments for agricultural land.
• Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment, including GPS, total stations, and digital levels.
• Analyze survey data and prepare accurate maps, plans, and reports using specialized software.
• Delineate property boundaries and establish survey markers in accordance with legal requirements.
• Collaborate with land developers, agricultural consultants, and farm managers to understand project requirements.
• Ensure all surveys are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Maintain detailed field notes and records of all survey activities.
• Identify potential land use issues and provide data to support planning and decision-making.
• Assist in the planning and layout of farm infrastructure, such as irrigation systems, roads, and fields.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in surveying technology and methodologies.
• Ensure the safety of yourself and any assistants during field operations.

• A qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Land Surveyor or Farm Surveyor, with demonstrable experience in rural or agricultural settings.
• Proficiency in using modern surveying instruments and techniques (GPS, Total Station).
• Experience with surveying software for data processing and map creation (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Survey).
• Strong understanding of South African land surveying laws, regulations, and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and data recording.
• Ability to interpret aerial photographs, cadastral maps, and legal descriptions.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liane with clients and stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the Benoni region and surrounding agricultural areas.
• Ability to work independently and manage survey projects from start to finish.
