Senior Telecom Transmission Engineer

• Design, plan, and optimize the telecommunications transmission network, including fiber optic (DWDM, SDH/SONET) and microwave systems.
• Oversee the deployment and commissioning of new transmission equipment and network elements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the transmission network to ensure high availability and performance.
• Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including configurations, schematics, and operational procedures.
• Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning for the transmission network.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams (e.g., RF, Core Network) to ensure seamless integration of services.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with SLAs for transmission services and equipment.
• Stay updated on emerging transmission technologies and industry best practices.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational procedures during field activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in transmission engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in telecommunications transmission network design, implementation, and operations.
• In-depth knowledge of fiber optic transmission technologies (e.g., DWDM, OTN, GPON) and SDH/SONET.
• Experience with microwave transmission systems and planning tools.
• Solid understanding of IP networking concepts (MPLS, BGP) as they relate to transport networks.
• Proficiency in using network management systems and diagnostic tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project-management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Relevant certifications are a plus.
