Structural Engineer - Commercial and Industrial Projects

Our client, a dynamic and growing engineering consultancy, is seeking a talented and experienced Structural Engineer to join their team in Klerksdorp, North West . This role is integral to the design and execution of a variety of commercial and industrial construction projects across the region. You will be responsible for the structural design, analysis, and oversight of building projects, ensuring safety, integrity, and compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with architects, project managers, and construction teams to deliver innovative and cost-effective structural solutions. • Perform structural analysis and design for various building types, including commercial, industrial, and potentially residential structures.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software.
• Collaborate with architects, clients, and other consultants to develop integrated design solutions.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Review shop drawings and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors.
• Ensure compliance with South African National Standards (SANS) and other relevant building codes.
• Identify and propose solutions to structural challenges and site issues.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and preliminary design reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians as required.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and communication records.

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization in structures.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng).
• A minimum of 6 years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP
  2000, Etabs, Revit Structure, Prokon).
• In-depth knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices.
• Experience with concrete, steel, and masonry design.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Klerksdorp, North West .
