Automotive Design Engineer

Our client, a renowned automotive design and development firm located in Benoni , is actively seeking a talented and innovative Automotive Design Engineer. This role is focused on conceptualizing, designing, and developing new automotive components and systems, utilizing advanced CAD software and engineering principles. You will play a key part in bringing new vehicle features to life, from initial sketches and 3D modeling to prototyping and testing.

• Develop innovative automotive component designs from concept through to production, ensuring feasibility and adherence to specifications.
• Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Solid Works) for 3D modeling, surfacing, and creating detailed engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including styling, aerodynamics, and manufacturing, to integrate designs seamlessly.
• Perform engineering analysis (e.g., FEA) to validate design performance, durability, and safety.
• Create and manage design documentation, including BOMs (Bills of Materials) and design reports.
• Assist in the prototyping and testing phases, providing technical support and troubleshooting design issues.
• Stay informed about industry trends, new materials, and manufacturing technologies to drive innovation.
• Present design concepts and technical proposals to stakeholders.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in using 3D CAD software for automotive design (e.g., CATIA V5, Solid Works, Siemens NX).
• Knowledge of engineering analysis tools (FEA, CFD) is a strong advantage.
• Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and materials.
• Strong visualization and creative design skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply engineering principles to solve design challenges.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• A keen interest in automotive design and technology.
