Civil Engineer - Municipal Infrastructure

Our client, a municipal engineering services provider, is seeking a diligent Civil Engineer to contribute to the development and maintenance of municipal infrastructure in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This role involves planning, designing, and overseeing projects related to water supply, sanitation, roads, and stormwater systems within the municipality. You will work closely with municipal officials and contractors to ensure the effective delivery of essential public services.

• Design and plan municipal infrastructure projects, including water reticulation, sewer networks, and road upgrades.
• Prepare tender documents, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal projects.
• Supervise construction activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards and project timelines.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare progress reports.
• Liaise with municipal departments, service providers, and the public on infrastructure matters.
• Ensure designs and projects comply with relevant SANS standards and municipal policies.
• Assist in the assessment and maintenance of existing municipal infrastructure.
• Respond to public queries and service delivery issues related to infrastructure.
• Utilize CAD software for design and drafting purposes.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in municipal infrastructure design and project implementation.
• Experience with water, sanitation, and road infrastructure projects is essential.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant civil engineering design software.
• Understanding of South African municipal engineering practices and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with potential site visits in the Kimberley area.
