Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Tembisa . In this vital role, you will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, and development of new mechanical products and the improvement of existing ones. You will work closely with product managers and manufacturing engineers to bring innovative solutions to life, ensuring they meet rigorous performance, cost, and quality targets.

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD modeling software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are optimized for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform design reviews and document design changes and improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues encountered during prototyping, testing, and production phases.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Proficiency in Solid Works or similar parametric CAD software.
• Experience with FEA software for design validation.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, stamping).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
