Animator - 3D Character Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Animator with a specialization in 3D Character Art to join their creative studio in Benoni . This role is central to bringing characters to life through captivating animation and realistic modeling, contributing significantly to the visual fidelity and narrative impact of projects within the Arts & Entertainment domain. You will work closely with game designers, directors, and other artists to create high-quality 3D assets and animations that meet project specifications and artistic vision.

• Create high-quality 3D character models, including sculpting, retopology, texturing, and rigging.
• Animate characters and objects with a strong understanding of motion, timing, and performance.
• Collaborate with art directors and game designers to achieve desired character aesthetics and behaviors.
• Optimize 3D assets and animations for real-time rendering engines and various platforms.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in 3D modeling and animation software and techniques.

• Proven experience as a 3D Animator or Character Artist in the gaming or animation industry, with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, ZBrush.
• Expertise in character rigging, skinning, and animation principles.
• Experience with P  texturing workflows and software like Substance Painter.
• Strong artistic fundamentals, including anatomy, form, and silhouette.
