Lead Environment Artist

Our client is seeking an accomplished and inspiring Lead Environment Artist to spearhead the creation of immersive game worlds in Nelspruit . You will be responsible for defining and executing the artistic vision for environments, ensuring they are detailed, believable, and optimized for gameplay. This leadership role requires exceptional artistic talent, a strong understanding of architectural and natural forms, and the ability to manage and mentor a team of environment artists.

You will collaborate closely with level designers and art directors to craft visually stunning and functionally sound game spaces that captivate players in Nelspruit .

• Lead and manage a team of environment artists, providing direction and feedback.
• Create high-quality 3D assets for environments, including architecture, props, and terrain.
• Develop and maintain consistent art style and quality standards for all environmental art.
• Work closely with level designers to block out and build playable game spaces.
• Optimize environment assets for performance and memory usage across target platforms.

• Extensive experience as an Environment Artist in the gaming industry, with a significant portfolio of shipped titles.
• Proven leadership experience managing art teams.
• Expertise in industry-standard 3D modeling, texturing, and level design tools .
• Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and lighting techniques for environments.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
