Sports Event Manager

Our client, a prominent events company specializing in Leisure & Sports , is seeking a meticulous and energetic Sports Event Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of various sporting events in and around Nelspruit . This role demands exceptional organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, budgets, and logistical challenges. You will be responsible for ensuring that every event meets high standards of quality, safety, and participant satisfaction, from initial concept through to post-event analysis.

• Manage all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, budget development, vendor negotiation, and staffing.
• Develop detailed event schedules, timelines, and operational plans, ensuring seamless execution on event days.
• Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to promote events and manage media relations.
• Oversee on-site event logistics, including setup, participant registration, security, and emergency response protocols.
• Manage relationships with sponsors, participants, volunteers, and other key stakeholders.
• Conduct post-event evaluations, analyzing performance metrics, financial outcomes, and participant feedback to identify areas for improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in managing sports events or large-scale public events.
• Proven ability to manage complex budgets, timelines, and logistical challenges.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Certification in event management or project management is a plus.
