Cost Accountant

Cost Accountant position available in Somerset West.

A renowned Engineering company is looking for a Cost Accountant to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in the Helderberg Area, Cape Town.

Position Requirements:

• CIMA qualification (completed)
• Minimum 3 years post-CIMA qualified experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven cost accounting experience within complex manufacturing operations
• In-depth working knowledge of SAP in a manufacturing and cost controlling environment
• Strong Excel skills and sound analytical ability

Position Responsibilities:

• Analyse and report on manufacturing costs, including materials, labour, overheads, and WIP
• Maintain standard costing and perform detailed variance analysis
• Support month-end close processes relating to inventory and production costs
• Partner with production, operations, and supply chain teams to improve cost visibility and cost control
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Make extensive use of SAP for cost controlling, reporting, and analysis
• Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting standards
