The Role:
The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the finance function with a strong commercial mindset, ensuring that financial strategy and operations not only drive compliance and efficiency but also actively support business growth, profitability, and value creation. This role provides strategic financial insights to the CEO, executive management, and portfolio leaders, aligning finance strategy with broader commercial objectives. The CFO will partner closely with business leaders to identify opportunities, optimize investment decisions, and drive financial performance across the portfolio.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Management & Commercial Leadership
- Prepare annual financial statements for the assigned portfolio, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and relevant financial reporting standards.
- Develop and implement robust accounting, financial management, and control systems that balance governance with commercial flexibility.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning process, providing actionable insights to drive business growth and profitability.
- Analyze and interpret financial results in the context of business drivers, identifying opportunities for efficiency, cost optimization, and revenue enhancement.
- Support executive decision-making through commercially-focused financial analysis and scenario planning.
· Approve audit packs and ensure alignment of audit processes with business strategy, not just compliance. - Ensure timely and accurate performance reporting to enable data-driven commercial decisions.
Strategic Advice, Business Partnership & Commercial Insights
- Act as a trusted commercial partner to the CEO and business leaders, providing guidance on investments, capital allocation, and growth initiatives.
- Lead financial modeling and business case development to support strategic projects and major investments.
- Identify and communicate financial risks and opportunities, balancing short-term operational considerations with long-term business objectives.
- Design and implement financial solutions to business challenges while maintaining governance and control.
- Provide forward-looking insights on business performance, return on investment, and market opportunities.
- Embed a commercial lens in all finance processes to ensure value creation is central to decisions.
Project Management & Value Delivery
- Lead cross-functional projects with a commercial impact, including efficiency improvements, cost optimization initiatives, and strategic growth projects.
- Guide finance teams to provide decision support and influence outcomes that maximize business performance.
- Drive process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve profitability.
People Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team capable of delivering both compliance and commercial insights.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and commercial thinking across the finance organization.
- Recruit, retain, and develop finance talent to meet evolving business needs.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing guidance and coaching to enhance both technical and commercial capabilities.
