purpose of the job:to provide a professional management accounting and administrative service to management and staff to ensure compliance to policies, procedures, approval frameworks and internal controls
minimum qualifications and requirements:
- management accounting / relevant financial degree / diploma or nqf 7 equivalent is essential.
- honours degree and cima/saica/saipa accredited is desirable
- 4-5 years relevant experience as a junior accountant is essential
- supervisory experience is essential
- computer literacy (ms office package, sap) is essential
- valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate
key performance areas:
the successful candidate is responsible for:
- preparation, presentation and interpretation of daily, weekly & monthly management accounts and related reports.
- preparation of monthly forecasts and annual business plans.
- interpret and analyse the relationship between mining production and costs to assess operational efficiency and profitability.
- analyse pricing and volume variances compared to budgets and forecasts
- supplying of information to stakeholders to enable them to make informed decisions regarding performance.
- coaching junior accountants and/or clerks on business, systems and processes.
- maintaining accurate financial records (correct cost allocation)
- conducting reviews on new cost reduction initiatives and value adding proposals
- preference will be given to employees from the designated groups in line with the provisions of the employment equity act, the company’s recruitment policy and employment equity plan.
