Senior Finance Manager

Senior Finance Manager, Retail Property. Permanent position with a clear path to CFO. East Rand, Gauteng.

Bentel Group is a family-owned, owner-managed retail property company with 14 shopping centres across Gauteng. We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Finance Manager to lead our finance team at our East Rand head office, starting in the first quarter of 2027.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. You will own the numbers and stay close to the detail, supported by a team of seven and working directly with the directors, with a clear path to CFO.

• Work directly with the directors on financial decisions
• Lead and develop a finance team of seven, building better systems and controls
• Month-end and management accounts per centre
• Tenant billing, rates and utility recoveries, arrears and collections
• VAT, provisional tax, audits and annual financial statements
• Bank finance: refinancing submissions, loan covenants, amortisation and cash flow forecasts
• Redevelopment feasibilities and due diligence on new acquisitions
• The financial side of leases and tenant disputes, advising both leasing and legal
• Tax, estate and trust administration

• CA(SA) with 9 to 15 years' experience post articles
• From a retail property development company, property management firm or retail property fund
• MDA (or a similar property management system) experience essential, and experience of dealing with retail tenants
• Still produces the work personally, from month-end to bank submissions
