Senior Investment Manager - Insurance Portfolios

Our client, a distinguished financial services group, is seeking a seasoned Senior Investment Manager to oversee and direct investment strategies for their substantial insurance portfolios. Based in Klerksdorp, North West , this critical role involves managing a diverse range of assets to meet the long-term liabilities and financial objectives of the insurance business. You will be responsible for asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management, and performance monitoring.

• Develop and implement investment strategies tailored to the specific needs and regulatory requirements of insurance portfolios.
• Manage a multi-asset class investment portfolio, including equities, fixed income, property, and alternative investments.
• Conduct thorough market research, economic analysis, and due diligence on potential investments.
• Optimize asset allocation to balance risk and return objectives, ensuring sufficient liquidity for liabilities.
• Monitor portfolio performance against benchmarks and make tactical adjustments as needed.

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; CFA charter holder or progress towards it is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in investment management, with specific experience in managing institutional assets, preferably for insurance companies.
• Proven track record of successful portfolio management and strong investment performance.
• In-depth knowledge of various asset classes, financial instruments, and risk management techniques.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills.
• Strong understanding of South African and global financial markets.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex portfolios.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and investment analysis software.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Klerksdorp, North West .
