About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and knowledgeable Public Affairs Specialist to join their team in Kimberley . This role focuses on managing the organization's relationships with government bodies, policymakers, and community stakeholders to advocate for its interests and ensure compliance. You will be responsible for monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, developing advocacy strategies, and communicating the company's position effectively. This is a crucial role for someone passionate about shaping public policy and influencing stakeholder perceptions in the Northern Cape.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze relevant public policy, legislative, and regulatory developments affecting the organization in Kimberley .
- Develop and implement public affairs strategies to support the company's business objectives and advocate for its interests.
- Build and maintain relationships with government officials, community leaders, and industry associations.
- Prepare briefing materials, policy recommendations, and position statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Organize and participate in meetings, consultations, and public forums related to policy issues.
- Support corporate social responsibility initiatives and community engagement programs in the region.
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, policy analysis, or corporate communications.
- Strong understanding of the political and regulatory landscape relevant to the industry.
- Excellent research, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation abilities.
