About the Role

• Monitor, analyze, and interpret relevant government policies, regulations, and legislation affecting the renewable energy sector.

• Engage with policymakers, industry associations, and government agencies to advocate for favorable regulatory environments.
• Prepare policy briefs, reports, and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
• Assess the impact of proposed policies on project economics, development timelines, and market opportunities.
• Stay abreast of global best practices and emerging trends in renewable energy policy and market design.

• Master's degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in energy policy analysis, government affairs, or regulatory affairs, with a specific focus on renewable energy.
• In-depth understanding of South African energy policy, regulatory frameworks, and market structures.
• Proven ability to conduct policy research, analyze complex issues, and formulate clear recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong advocacy and negotiation capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
