Overview

A specialist Endocrinology and Physician practice in Boksburg, Gauteng is seeking to recruit a Medical Receptionist to join the front desk team. The successful candidate will work closely with the practice manager and staff, supporting patient coordination and daily reception operations in a weekday only private practice environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Answer telephone calls professionally and take accurate messages
  • Manage and maintain the appointment diary across booking platforms
  • Schedule patient appointments and keep bookings up to date
  • Welcome patients and create a professional first point of contact
  • Open files for new patients and capture patient details on the system
  • Communicate with patients via phone, email, or SMS when required
  • Prepare files for upcoming appointments
  • Assist with obtaining referral letters, medical notes, and results
  • Provide patients with necessary documentation for procedures or admissions
  • Process cash and EFT payments and allocate receipts
  • Assist the doctor and practice manager with general administrative duties
  • Liaise with hospital departments, service providers, and suppliers
Qualification and Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Previous medical reception experience advantageous
  • Computer literacy essential
  • Knowledge of Vericlaim software advantageous (training provided)
  • Reliable transport required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Salary

R6,500 per month (cost to company)

Work Hours

Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30, with occasional extended hours depending on patient bookings.
