Nviro Tek Laboratories is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Microbiology Laboratory Analyst to join our team in Wellington. We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in a commercial food testing laboratory environment who can contribute immediately to our ISO 17025 accredited operations.
- Perform microbiological analyses of client and internal samples strictly in accordance with ISO 17025 accredited methods.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely recording and processing of test results.
- Maintain method compliance and assist with technical upkeep of existing methods.
- Participate in method development, validation, and evaluation of new methodologies where required.
- Professionally manage client‑related technical queries and communicate effectively with the Team Leader regarding testing or result‑related matters.
- BSc degree with Microbiology as a major subject (BTech qualifications will not be considered for this position).
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a commercial food microbiology laboratory.
- Demonstrated understanding of ISO 17025 laboratory practices and quality systems.
- Experience with routine food pathogen testing (e.g., Salmonella, Listeria,
E. coli, etc.).
- Advantageous:
- Experience in molecular techniques (e.g., PCR‑based pathogen detection, sequencing etc).
- Exposure to method validation and verification studies.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and commitment to delivering high-quality results within strict turnaround times.
