A vacancy exists for an Emergency Unit Enrolled Nurse Specialised (ENS) based at Life St. George’s Hospital reporting to Schirevandrea Du Toit, Unit Manager. The successful candidate will provide, and coordinate evidence based clinical practices and resources efficiently to achieve the Company’s strategic objectives of Growth, Efficiency, Quality and Sustainability.

Participate to meet Patient Experience, Clinical and Safety (Patient and Employee) outcomes targets in accordance with Life Healthcare set standards.

Report any Customer complaints and adverse events and participate in the investigation within the allocated time frames.

Conduct all allocated tasks delegated by the Unit Manager/Shift Leader/Senior Registered Nurse. Ensuring quality management systems and initiatives are conducted according to company policy.

Promoting a safe and healthy working environment.

Enforcing infection prevention principles as per company policy.

Effective communication skills– participate in collaborative and engaging team dynamics (internal and external stakeholders)

Requirements

Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse is essential.

Compliance with the SANC code for an Enrolled Nurse and all applicable healthcare legislation.

1-year post qualification experience in an Critical Care

Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Participative and collaborative with all members of the team to foster and develop a healthy and positive working environment that actively promotes a joint performance and value-based culture.

Updated knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, industrial relations, standards, codes, ethics, and competency standards.

Updated knowledge and understanding of relevant pathophysiology, anatomy, and diseases to render optimal holistic care.
