HR Manager - Agriculture | Groblersdal

A well-established organisation in the agricultural and export sector is looking for an experienced HR Manager to take responsibility for the organisation's human resources function while playing an active role in the broader leadership of the business.

This is a hands‑on HR leadership role suited to an experienced HR professional who can operate strategically while remaining closely involved in the day-to-day HR and payroll function.

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organisation's business objectives.

• Lead and manage the HR function, driving employee performance, engagement and organisational effectiveness.

• Provide HR advice, guidance and coaching to senior management and leadership.

• Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and development.

• Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes and ensure compliance with applicable labour legislation.

• Take responsibility for the full payroll function
  , including administration and oversight of payroll processes using Sage People
  .

• Compile and analyse HR statistics and present monthly reports to EXCO
  .

• Participate actively in EXCO
  , providing HR insights and contributing to business‑level decision‑making.

• Drive organisational development, change management and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Oversee HR systems, processes and digital tools to improve operational efficiency and employee experience.

• Provide oversight of OHS and Food Safety accreditations
  .

• Oversee relevant quality and compliance accreditations, including BRC, SIZA and related standards
  .

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or an equivalent qualification.

• 8-10 years' HR experience
  , with at least 3 years in a leadership/management capacity
  .

• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and employee relations.

• Demonstrated experience managing the full HR function
  , rather than specialising in one area of HR.

• Solid payroll experience and understanding is essential - candidates who are purely HR-focused without meaningful payroll exposure will not be suitable.

• Experience with
  Sage People or a comparable payroll system will be advantageous.

• Experience in organisational development, change management and HR process improvement.

• Strong leadership, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.

• Experience preparing HR reports/statistics for senior management or EXCO.

• Exposure to OHS, food safety, quality and compliance requirements will be advantageous.

This position is based in the Groblersdal area, Limpopo, and is not a Johannesburg/Pretoria-based role. Candidates must be willing and able to work from the Groblersdal area.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a genuine interest in working within an agricultural environment and be comfortable operating across both the strategic and operational aspects of HR
, including payroll.
