IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Cape Town (Northern Suburbs):
Our client, a well‑established and growing FMCG business, is seeking to appoint a proactive and service‑driven IT Support Technician to join their team. This role is ideal for a technically minded individual who enjoys troubleshooting, supporting end users and ensuring business‑critical IT systems operate efficiently across a fast‑paced environment.

Purpose of the Role

To provide first‑line technical support to users across the business, maintain hardware and software systems, troubleshoot IT‑related issues and contribute to the smooth and secure operation of the company's IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:
  • Providing first‑line technical support to end users
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network‑related issues
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers and peripheral devices
  • Setting up user accounts, email access and system permissions
  • Supporting Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and business applications
  • Assisting with ERP system support and user queries
  • Monitoring and maintaining IT equipment and system performance
  • Logging, tracking and resolving IT support requests within agreed time frames
  • Assisting with software installations, updates and system upgrades
  • Maintaining IT asset registers and documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with IT security policies and data protection procedures
  • Liaising with external service providers where required
  • Providing exceptional customer service to internal users
Criteria:
  • Relevant IT qualification or certification
  • 2–3 years' experience in an IT Technical Support or Helpdesk role
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience with computer hardware, networking and troubleshooting
  • Exposure to Active Directory, printers, Wi‑Fi networks and basic server support would be advantageous
  • Experience supporting ERP systems will be beneficial
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, organised and customer‑focused
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Reside within the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town
  • Valid driver's licence will be advantageous
