IT Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic IT Security Manager to lead their security initiatives in Vereeniging. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's information security program. You will manage a team of security professionals, ensuring the protection of all digital assets, data, and systems against cyber threats. This is a critical position for a seasoned security leader focused on building and maintaining a robust security posture within a complex technological landscape.

• Develop, implement, and manage the overall information security strategy and program.
• Lead and mentor a team of security analysts and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the management of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and SIEM.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
• Manage incident response activities, ensuring swift and effective resolution of security breaches.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability management, and compliance audits.
• Collaborate with IT leadership and business units to align security initiatives with organizational goals.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field;
  Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT security, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and executing comprehensive security strategies.
• Strong understanding of risk management, compliance, and incident response frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable.
