IT Auditor - Information Security Focus

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Auditor with a strong focus on Information Security to join their team in Benoni . This hybrid role involves evaluating the effectiveness of IT controls, assessing security risks, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. You will play a vital role in strengthening the organization's security posture by identifying control weaknesses and recommending improvements, working closely with both IT and business units.

• Plan and execute IT audits, with a primary focus on information security controls and practices.
• Assess the design and operational effectiveness of IT general controls and application controls.
• Evaluate compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Identify IT and security risks, control deficiencies, and provide practical recommendations for remediation.
• Prepare clear and concise audit reports detailing findings and proposed action plans.
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely and effective implementation by management.
• Stay updated on emerging IT risks, audit methodologies, and security threats.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in IT auditing, information security, or IT risk management.
• Knowledge of IT audit frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL) and security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Familiarity with network security , data privacy, and cybersecurity principles.
• Experience with data analytics for audit purposes is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
