About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to join their team in Klerksdorp. This hybrid role involves monitoring network performance, identifying and responding to incidents, and ensuring the overall health and stability of the telecommunications infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in maintaining service level agreements and providing timely support to resolve network disruptions.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong analytical skills, and can effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment, contributing to the reliable delivery of telecom services.
- Monitor network traffic and system performance using sophisticated monitoring tools.
- Identify, diagnose, and respond to network alerts and outages in a timely manner.
- Escalate critical issues to appropriate engineering teams according to established procedures.
- Perform initial troubleshooting steps to resolve common network and system problems.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all network events and actions taken.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of NOC processes and procedures.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a NOC environment or similar IT support role.
- Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and common network devices.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Solar Winds, Nagios, or Zabbix.
- Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as required by the operational needs.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, capable of working effectively in a hybrid model.
