Cybersecurity Analyst - Network Security

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Cybersecurity Analyst with a specialization in network security to join their established IT security team in Benoni . You will be responsible for monitoring network activity, detecting threats, responding to security incidents, and implementing measures to protect the organization's digital assets. This on-site role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining a secure computing environment.

You will work closely with IT operations and other security personnel to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with security policies.

• Monitor network traffic and security alerts for suspicious activities using SIEM and other security tools.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing remediation steps.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Implement and manage security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on network security.
• Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Knowledge of network protocols, firewall management, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH are highly desirable.
